HCF PARTNERS WITH RACGP TO IMPROVE GP SERVICES FOR ALL AUSTRALIANS
TUESDAY MARCH 28, 2023: Australia’s leading non-government funder of health services research, the HCF Research Foundation, has announced a partnership with the RACGP Foundation to support funding for the General Practitioner community for research into improving GP care.
HCF Research Foundation and the RACGP Foundation have worked together since 2012 to provide more than $1.5 million in funding to researchers within the GP community to improve models, effectiveness, quality, efficiency and the cost of care.
For more than a decade, grants from HCF and RACGP have funded research into models of general practice in aged care, the transition from acute to general practice care, and improving end-of-life care.
HCF Research Foundation Chair, Professor Claire Jackson, said the 2023 round would help increase the evidence base in the delivery of quality healthcare services.
“We know that GPs are often the first port of call for people seeking help with their health, and with chronic illness and comorbidities on the rise, it’s more important than ever to know we are supporting those at the frontline of primary care,” Ms Jackson said.
“This grant will help fund research to improve the already complex fields of care clinicians work in every day, to really improve health outcomes for patients and the quality of care they can receive, be it by reducing medical errors, better financing care, or improving patient safety.”
The partnership forms part of HCF’s long tenure of impactful research, having awarded more than $27 million in research over the past 21 years, making a meaningful contribution towards improving the delivery of health services for all Australians.
Applications for the grant close on Monday, May 1. To be eligible, the principal investigator must be a general practitioner or general practice registrar. Details:
