Tests and imaging
Before surgery you may need to have some tests including blood tests, urine tests, X-rays and possibly a CT scan. You may also need to have a cystoscopy which lets surgeon see the inside of your bladder.
If any issues are raised by your tests or imaging, your surgeon may have to postpone or cancel your surgery.
Medications
Your surgeon may ask you to stop taking certain medications (especially blood thinners) beforehand. If you smoke or drink alcohol, ask your surgeon whether you should stop these too.
Don’t forget to mention any complementary or herbal remedies you’re taking.
