HCF to Offer Relief for Flood Affected Members
MARCH 3, 2022: HCF Australia and rt health have announced support is available for members living in flood affected parts of New South Wales and Queensland.
HCF, Australia’s largest not-for-profit health fund, provides health insurance products to more than 1.7 million members across Australia, many of which may be directly impacted by by the current flood emergency.
HCF Chief Executive Officer Sheena Jack said it was devastating to see the impact the floods were having on local communities.
“My heart goes out to those affected, including our members who are impacted by this devastating one-in-500-year flood event,” she said.
“While our Tweed Heads branch has reopened, our Lismore branch remains severely impacted and will be inoperable for some time.
“We know that in times of severe natural disaster, lives can be put on hold and finances impacted, especially for those who have had to evacute their homes and businesses. That’s why we want our members to know we are here to offer support.”
HCF members experiencing hardship as a result of the floods can contact HCF to discuss how we can assist ranging from premium waivers to temporary suspensions of health insurance cover.
